70 cm/440MHz

On December 5, 2009 the TASMA membership voted to amend the organization bylaws and to direct the technical committee to begin coordinating 70 cm repeaters in the Southern California area. This new activity will be a three step process. The first step is to develop the resources in the Technical committee to perform 70cm coordinations. The second step is to process and generate grandfathered coordinations for previously coordinated 70cm repeaters pursuant to the TASMA grandfather coordination guidelines. The third step is to begin coordinating currently uncoordinated repeaters based on spectrum availability.

The first step will take a few months and the second step is likely to take a year and a half or more. As a consequence TASMA will not be accepting applications for non grandfathered 70cm coordinations at this time. The only 70cm coordination requests the Technical Committee will accept at this time are coordinations qualifying for grandfather status. TASMA will not begin considering grandfather coordinations until after May 1, 2010. For more information about grandfathered coordinations see the grandfather coordination page.

You can help us develop our 70cm repeater database. If you know of any active 70cm repeaters please e-mail Bob Dengler NO6B no6b@no6b.com to let him know. Please send the output frequency, PL, call sign, group associated with the station, and location if known.
