Reference: Agenda For Meeting
All amateurs who had scheduled business before the technical committee were notified of the meeting by e-mail. The agenda was posted on the TASMA Web Site.
TASMA Chairman, Bob Dengler, acting as facilitator for this meeting, called the meeting to order at approximately 7:37pm.
- An interference complain from John Austin (WA6RLV) was received. Mike Marin (KF6RQV) will be contacting NH2R to try to resolve this issue.
- Introduction of those present were conducted around 7:41pm.
- The agenda was changed to deal with items 10 to 12 after approval of the previous minutes, and to correct item 2 (approval of minutes) to read June 12 instead of July 12.
- Howard Brown (KG6GI) read the previous minutes. The minutes were approved with three corrections on a vote of 4-0 (motion by Howard (KG6GI) and second by Alex (WB6DTR)).
- AB8AA (147.810-) Transfer of ownership of Sunset Ridge system from AB8AA to Glenn McJennett (KE6ZLZ). KE6ZLZ have submitted two RFCs for this system, one for the transfer of ownership (using the original coordination parameters), and a second RFC to invert the frequency pair assigned to this coordination. The second RFC was deferred to the next meeting, and the technical committee decided to act on the original transfer of ownership. The transfer of ownership was approved, on a vote of 4-0, with the same parameters as originally coordinated (motion by Alex (WB6DTR) and second by Matt (W6KGB)). The language of this decision was later changed on a vote of 4-0, to approved with the parameters as stated in the application (motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Howard (KG6GI)).
- WB6LFC (145.440-) -- Transfer of ownership of Sunset Ridge system to Steve Mankowski (AD6XK). On a vote of 4-0, it was approved with the parameters as stated in the application (motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Howard (KG6GI)).
- AB6FC (146.700-) -- Transfer of ownership of Sunset Ridge system to Dave Estrada (KD6HDX). On a vote of 4-0, it was approved with the parameters as stated in the application (motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Alex (WB6DTR)).
- N6WB (146.880-) Call sign update, filed 03-08-2001. It was approved on a vote of 4-0 (motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Alex (WB6DTR)).
- KD6QLT (146.160+) Final coordination review (the one-year test period ended on July 11, 2001). This system appears to be off-of-the-air, and so the technical committee is extending the test coordination for six months, and it will reevaluate the status of this coordination in the September meeting. A letter inquiring for the status of the system and explaining the action being taken, with a deadline of 60 days, will be mailed by certified mail to the system contacts. This action was taken on vote of 4-0 (motion by Howard (KG6GI) and second by Matt (W6KGB)).
- W6HEM (146.805-) -- Final coordination review (the one-year test period ended on July 11, 2001).
- W6CDF (147.915-) -- Final coordination review (the one-year test period ended on July 11, 2001). On a vote of 3-0 (motion by Alex (WB6DTR) and second by Matt (W6KGB)), final coordination will be issued.
- K6ENS (145.360-) Transfer of coordination from WB6YMH to K6ENS. On vote of 4-0 the transfer of coordination was granted (motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Randy (KC6HUR)).
- W6JBT (146.850-) Repeater seems to be deviating over 5KHz based on TC members observation. No action was taken on this item, because it is being handled offline. The technical committee chairman gave a report on the situation.
- KG6ALU (no specific frequency requested) New RFC seeking assistance in identifying frequency filed 05-12-2001. This item was tabled until the technical committee receives the missing information requested last meeting.
- NH2R (no specific frequency requested) New RFC seeking assistance in identifying frequency filed 04-07-2001. There were some ideas presented on this item, but none seems to work well for the situation. It was agreed to send a letter to NH2R explaining the situation. Howard (KG6GI) will prepare this letter. This was agreed on vote of 4-0, under a motion by Matt (W6KGB) and second by Randy (KC6HUR).
- Technical standards and self-measures. No action or discussion took place on this item at this time. An interesting and informal discussion on self-measures took place before the meeting started.
- Adjourn at 10:14pm on vote of 4-0, on a motion of Alex (WB6DTR) and second by Matt (W6KGB).
Minutes taken by,
Mike Marin (KF6RQV)
