Minutes of the Technical Committee Meeting of October 10,2000

Present: Chairman Allan Avnet, AB8AA
Committee members: Joe Provenza, W6UPN, Karl Pagel, N6BVU, Howard Brown, KG6GI, Rob Hanson, W6RH.
TASMA Chairman Jeff Reinhardt, AA6JR. Chairman Avnet called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m.

1. There were no walk-in items present at the start of the meeting.
2. The following one-year tests will conclude next month, in November 2000.
   1. 146.670- KD6AFA City Terrace
   2. 147.810- AB8AA Sunset Ridge
   3. 147.975- W6LAR Redlands

3. New items:
1. Copy of the new club license W6IER, was received from the Inland Empire ARC on 145.480
2. Letter of interference from IEARC received about the SoCal DX club also on 145.480. Since the IEARC has not officially notified TASMA about moving it’s current box or filing for a test at it’s second location, the interference issue was tabled until such time as the IEARC updates it’s paperwork
3. A reported link from 144.410 MHz to a 222 system was turned over to the ARRL OO Coordinator for investigation.
4. An email update on some of the DR0NK systems on 147.39+ was read by Karl, N6BVU.
5. An update on the DARN system on 147.360+ was read by Karl N6BVU.
6. A letter questioning where on two-meters SSTVer’s are, was read.
7. Since no updates from either user of the 146.910- interference issue have been received, this item is tabled until the updates are received.
4. Administrative Items:
1. It seems that our two San Diego reps won’t be coming to any future Tech meetings. John KF6XY has medical problems, and Duncan KF6ILA has night school.
2. Allan, AB8AA, spoke on computer mapping programs.
3. A Motion was offered by Howard, KG6GI to accept the Minutes of the September 2000 Tech Committee meeting, Seconded by Joe, W6UPN. Vote was 5-0.
