Minutes of Tech Committee Meeting July 11, 2000

Present: Chairman Allan Avnet, AB8AA

Committee members: Joe Provenza, W6UPN, Steve Hennessee, W6UMR, Karl Pagel, N6BVU.

1. Chairman Avnet called the meeting to order at 6:55 p.m.
2. There were no walk-in items present at the start of the meeting.
3. Items carried over from previous meetings:
1. Minutes of the March 14^th meeting were read, Motion to Accept offered by Steve, W6UMR, Seconded by Joe, W6UPN. Vote was 4-0 to accept.
2. Minutes of the April 11^th meeting were read, Motion to Accept offered by Steve, W6UMR, Seconded by Joe, W6UPN. Vote was 4-0 to accept.
3. Correction to the May 9^th minutes; item #3 should be WA6TST, not WA6MTZ.
4. A RFC for a portable repeater from KD6QLT on 146.160+ in Palm Springs was given an one-year test, Motion by Joe, W6UPN, Second by Steve, W6UMR. Vote 4-0 to accept.
5. Received from WA6TST on Mt Rodman on 147.885- were coverage maps and site agreements.
4. A site change from W6CDF on 147.915- in Beaumont was given a one-year test. Motion by Joe, W6UPN, Second by Steve, W6UMR. Vote 4-0 to accept.
5. Information about a new repeater system on 147.120+ at Hoover Dam was received from the Arizona Frequency coordinator.
6. Partial results of the on-the-air testing of coordinated repeaters were turned in by members of the Tech Committee.
7. It was decided to inform KD6REG that all of his testing on 146.730-, 147.075+, and 147.735- are being terminated by the Committee. He will be given Coordination on 147.075+ only. The other two pairs are being re-assigned by the Committee.
8. The two RFC’s from KE6QQV were denied. It was suggested he try to use the two pairs that KD6REG had been testing on.
1. The odd-split pair was denied because the pair was not listed in the TASMA bandplan.
2. The 146.700 pair was denied because of a prior RFC by someone else in the same area.
